Michael Marian at Marion Built

Michael Marian founded the company Marian Built in 2010. They are a licensed general contractor that “specializes in creating custom home and commercial environments including in house steel fabrication and wood elements.” The team works closely with architects, designers, and clients, on every step of the design and build process. Their projects range from full restaurant and office interiors, to home builds and remodel. Recent projects include the Smith Tower Observatory Bar, Flint Creek, and a number of others.

Michael began using his trucks to offer junk hauling services for his neighborhood as a way to make ends meet. With his general contracting business, Marian Built, closed, Michael Marian needed to garner revenue during the pandemic after struggling with receiving government funds. He started Big Mike’s truck dump and used his trucks to charge a flat rate for any “junk hauling, material pickup, and delivery needs,” according to the company’s social media posts. He leveraged his neighborhood and local network to promote this service. His efforts were successful as he received several calls providing him with a source of revenue. While still respecting social distancing rules, he only interacts with customers through calls and texts, bringing masks, gloves, and hand sanitizers on pickup jobs as well.
